Fill up and fly
flydubai passengers can now book and pay for flights at ENOC/EPPCO and ZOOM outlets
Monday, June 25, 2012 — flydubai, Dubai’s innovative low-cost airline, has partnered with MBME, a leading supplier of kiosk-based payment systems in the UAE, and ENOC Retail to allow passengers to book and pay for their flights at ENOC and EPPCO service stations plus ZOOM outlets.
The new partnership was inaugurated today by flydubai’s CEO, Ghaith Al Ghaith, Burhan Al Hashemi, ENOC Retail Managing Director, and Dr Anas Barbouti, Managing Director, MBME.
flydubai customers can complete flight payments through the Z-box Smart Kiosks installed in more than 40 ENOC and EPPCO Retail outlets, the UAE’s leading petroleum convenience retailer, and ZOOM stores as they stop for fuel or use the Dubai Metro. The Z-box Smart Kiosks form part of MBME’s wider UAE kiosk market of which there will be more than 500 in the coming months.
Al Ghaith said: “One of our main aims is to make travel more convenient and less stressful for passengers and this partnership helps us to do this. With customers now able to pay for their flights during their daily commute, we hope this approach will encourage more people to flydubai to our exciting and diverse network of destinations.”
flydubai has a number of payment partners located throughout the UAE, but its agreement with ENOC Retail takes this one step further as customers are also able to book and pay for flights at newly developed service counters. They will initially be installed across ENOC service stations in Al Barsha South and The Gardens as well as the ZOOM Market located opposite Dubai World Trade Centre on Sheikh Zayed Road, with more locations to be added in the near future. For those who have already booked their flights online or via the call centre, customers can complete their payment at Z-box Smart Kiosks using cash.
Al Hashemi said: “We are focused on strengthening the convenience that our retail network offers to our customers. With the introduction of Z-box Smart Kiosks and dedicated staff at the sales counters to process tickets, courier requests, and bill payments, our locations are now a one-stop-shop for people’s daily needs.”
Commenting on the agreement, Dr Barbouti said: “We are delighted that MBME has joined forces with flydubai to make travel more accessible in the UAE. Expanding payment channels through our network of self-service payment kiosks across the UAE offers passengers a new secure and convenient payment option.”
flydubai has a simple model where customers only pay for services they want to receive. Fares are inclusive of all taxes plus one piece of hand luggage weighing up to 7kg and one small laptop bag or handbag. Checked baggage starts at AED 50 for 20kgs, while a seat with extra legroom costs AED 100. Passengers can also book car rental in their chosen destination.
