flydubai adds Lar to its Iranian network

City becomes flydubai’s ninth destination in Iran

Dubai-based flydubai today announced the launch of flights to Lar in Iran, adding to the recent launch of operations to Ahwaz, Bandar Abbas, Esfahan, Hamadan, Shiraz and Tabriz earlier this year.

Flights to Lar will commence on 02 May with three flights a week. flydubai's Business Class is available on flights to and from Lar, offering passengers a more comfortable and personalised travel experience.

Commenting on the announcement, Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer of flydubai, said: "Iran remains an untapped market with much potential and we have seen a strong demand of passengers from our Iranian destinations. Lar is a welcome addition to our network, and will enable more people to travel conveniently between UAE and Iran."

Along with Tehran and Mashhad, which flydubai launched flights to in 2014, the announcement will see flydubai's Iranian network grow to nine points, becoming one of the airlines largest networks by country.

"We look forward to showcasing our product offering to passengers travelling to Lar, particularly our Business Class and award-winning In-Flight Entertainment." said Jeyhun Efendi, Senior Vice President Commercial (UAE, Middle East, Europe, and CIS), flydubai. The three times a week service to Dubai will provide passengers with the opportunity to connect to our growing network and beyond."

Last year, flydubai launched 23 new destinations and since the start of this year has launched 11 new routes. The airline now operates more than 1,400 weekly flights to an expanding network of more than 90 destinations. 57 points on the flydubai network were previously underserved or had no direct flights from Dubai.
