flydubai announces fourth destination in Pakistan

Airline is the first UAE national carrier to provide direct air links between Quetta and Dubai

Dubai-based flydubai today announced direct flights to Quetta in Pakistan. Flights to the airline's fourth destination in the country will commence on 11 June 2015 with three flights a week.

Commenting on the latest route announcement, Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer of flydubai, said: "We have been flying to Pakistan since 2010, and we have seen a consistent demand for our services. We are pleased to make Quetta our fourth destination in Pakistan and it becomes the 14th destination we have announced this year. We see continued opportunity to grow our network across our geographic focus and connect previously underserved markets to Dubai."

flydubai first began flights to Pakistan in 2010 with a daily service to Karachi, which has since grown to a double daily service due to demand. Karachi was flydubai's 20th destination on its network which has now grown to over 90 points. In 2013, flights to Sialkot and Multan were launched. As part of its commitment to its operations to Pakistan, flydubai will increase its 3 times weekly service to Multan to daily flights with effect from 26 May. flydubai will then operate 27 flights a week to Pakistan.

"With the launch of our flights to Quetta, we look forward to providing more passengers in Pakistan the opportunity to enjoy flydubai's comfortable onboard services, its award-winning In-Flight Entertainment and the ability to connect to our growing network or beyond through our hub in Dubai,"  said Sudhir Sreedharan, Senior Vice President, Commercial (GCC, Subcontinent, Africa) at flydubai.

flydubai serves a wide network of destinations in the Subcontinent. This network covers eight points in India, two points in Bangladesh and Afghanistan, as well as the capital cities of the Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka, Male', Kathmandu and Colombo respectively
