flydubai announces new seasonal routes for summer 2018

Dubai-based flydubai today announced the launch of two new seasonal destinations for next year

  • Dubai-based carrier adds Dubrovnik and Kutaisi to its seasonal summer schedule
  • Following popular demand last summer flights to the holiday destinations Batumi, Qabala and Tivat resume
  • flydubai’s network grows to 100 destinations in 45 countries

Dubai-based flydubai today announced the launch of two new seasonal destinations for next year: Dubrovnik, Croatia and Kutaisi, Georgia; the latest additions to flydubai’s European network for the 2018 summer period.

flydubai becomes the first carrier to operate direct flights to Dubrovnik from the UAE. Flights to the popular Croatian coastal city will operate up to four times a week from 10 April until 25 October 2018. Along with Tbilisi and Batumi, Kutaisi will become flydubai’s third point in Georgia and will be served with three weekly flights between 14 June and 22 September 2018.

This brings the number of destinations on flydubai’s European network for next year’s summer to 22 points including 11 points in Russia, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey, two points in Ukraine and the new seasonal route to Croatia.

“For the first time this year, we offered our passengers direct flights to popular summer destinations and based on the success of these routes we decided to increase the options for next year and we are looking forward to the start of flights to Dubrovnik and Kutaisi,” said Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer at flydubai, commenting on the announcement.

“These popular new routes, along with the relaunch of flights to Batumi, Tivat and Qabala, will complement our existing comprehensive network and will offer our passengers more options to explore this summer, especially as we see more connecting traffic onto our network as a result of our interline and codeshare agreements,” added Al Ghaith.

Flights to Batumi, Georgia will resume from 16 June until 30 September next year with a daily flight, an increase from the three-weekly service operated last summer. Tivat on the other hand, will resume with up to three weekly flights from 26 March until 26 October, replacing the existing service to Podgorica currently operating during the winter schedule. Qabala, flydubai’s second point in Azerbaijan, will resume from 14 June until 30 September with a four-weekly service, an increase from the previous twice-weekly service.

“ We have seen a strong demand for these new summer flights in both Business and Economy Classes. That’s why we made the decision to increase frequency for the next summer. The interest in affordable, popular and off-the-beaten-track holiday destinations continues to be on the rise with the increase in cost conscious and seasoned travelers across our network and these routes offer alternative options for those seeking a beach holiday or city breaks,” said Jeyhun Efendi, Senior Vice President Commercial (UAE, EU, ME, CIS) at flydubai.

Supported by new aircraft deliveries in 2017, flydubai continues to widen its network which comprises more than 100 destinations in 45 countries served by more than 1,700 weekly flight.
