- Flights from Kazan and Samara for the winter schedule remain popular
- M2 ticket programme provides convenient connections beyond flydubai’s network
Dubai-based flydubai presents its new seasonal offering for its Russian destinations at the OTDYKH/Leisure 2016 exhibition that has opened in Moscow. The airline is participating in the event for the second time together with Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM).
For the winter season, flydubai will operate 21 weekly flights to its 7 destinations in Russia: Kazan, Krasnodar, Mineralnye Vody, Moscow, Rostov-on-Don, Samara and Yekaterinburg. After a brief summer break the carrier will resume flights to Kazan and Samara on 28 September.
Ahead of the exhibition, Jeyhun Efendi, Senior Vice President Commercial (UAE, EU, ME, CIS) at flydubai, said: “Since 2010, flydubai has been committed to serving passengers travelling to and from Russia which remains an important market. We continue to see an increase in the number of passengers visiting Russia from across our network.”
While providing Russian passengers with convenient and affordable travel options to Dubai and beyond, flydubai contributes to Russia’s inbound tourism with Krasnodar, Mineralnye Vody and Moscow among the most popular routes. The top markets for inbound tourism to Russia are Dubai (UAE), Kathmandu (Nepal), Mumbai (India) and Colombo (Sri Lanka).
This autumn also sees flydubai connecting other Russian destinations outside its network. The airline has recently joined the M2-CLOSED FARE programme developed by Russia’s Transport Clearing House (TCH). The M2 provides an efficient platform for multiple carriers to offer convenient flight connections. Bookings under the programme are managed through the Global Distribution System (GDS) and is currently available for domestic passengers transferring via Yekaterinburg (SVX).
“Our recent agreement with the Transport Clearing House enables passengers from destinations outside our network to choose convenient connections on flydubai flights enhancing connectivity between Russia and Dubai,” added Efendi.
The airline recently introduced WiFi connectivity and Live TV on selected flights and it continues to roll out the service across the fleet. Business Class passengers benefit from a dedicated 24-hour Business Team to assist with bookings and enquiries throughout the journey, as well as priority check-in service, comfortable spacious seats and dining options. flydubai offers its Economy Class passengers a variety of features onboard including an award-winning inflight entertainment system, comfortable seating and hot meals.
The carrier has built a network of 90 destinations in 44 countries and operates more than 1,700 flights a week from Dubai. Passengers also benefit from flydubai's interline agreements with other carriers, providing opportunities for onward travel to more than 200 destinations.
