Thursday, January 7, 2010 — Beginning 2010 with some good news for Bahrain travellers, flydubai, Dubai’s first low cost airline, has announced a special discount with 20 per cent off fares to Dubai for a limited period.
The discounted prices mean passengers can save 20 per cent on one-way flights from Bahrain to Dubai paying as low as BD 18 which includes all taxes and one piece of hand baggage.
To take advantage of these special fares, bookings must be made from 10th January to 17th January for travel between 20th January and 31st March, 2010. The discounted prices are also available for flydubai flights from Dubai to Bahrain.
flydubai CEO, Ghaith Al Ghaith said: “This is the first of many such offers this year in addition to the popular flydubai sale. From our experience when we offer reduced fares, seats are taken up very quickly, so although there are seven days for customers to make their reservations, my advice is to book as early as possible.”
Bookings for flydubai’s specially discounted rates can be made on www.flydubai.com from Sunday, 10th January until Sunday, 17th January only. Customers can also book flights through the 24 hour flydubai call centre in Dubai (+971 4 3010800) and at selected travel agents.
The flydubai model is simple, with customers paying only for the services they want to receive. Fares include all taxes and one piece of hand baggage, weighing up to 10 kg, per passenger.
Passengers have the option to purchase checked-in baggage in advance at just BD 4 for the first piece and BD11 for the second, weighing up to 32 kg, subject to availability. Checked baggage at the airport is also strictly subject to availability and passengers are advised to book online early to secure the space, as only pre-purchased baggage can be guaranteed.
A nominal payment of BD 1 allows customers to select their seat and just BD 5 secures the extra legroom positions. Bookings can be changed for a small fee, plus any difference in the fare, and food and drink can be purchased on board.
