flydubai launches direct flights to Vilnius, strengthening air links between the UAE and Lithuania

  • The Dubai-based airline becomes the first UAE carrier to operate direct flights to Vilnius with a three-times-weekly service
  • flydubai grows its network to more than 135 destinations in 58 countries

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 12 December 2025: flydubai, the Dubai-based carrier, celebrated the launch of its inaugural service to Vilnius, marking the start of direct flights between Dubai and the capital of Lithuania. The new route reinforces flydubai’s growing footprint in Central and Eastern Europe and opens an important new gateway for travel, tourism and trade.

With the start of operations to Vilnius, flydubai becomes the first UAE carrier to offer nonstop connectivity between Dubai and Lithuania, giving customers more choice and convenience for business and leisure travel. The route will operate three times per week, providing seamless links to Dubai’s global aviation hub.

Her Excellency Noora Juma, the non-resident Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Lithuania, said: “Today, we celebrate a new link between two cities and two countries. flydubai’s decision to connect Vilnius and Dubai is not just about launching a new route; it’s about opening doors to endless possibilities for two nations with much to offer each other.”
Juras Taminskas, Minister of Transport and Communications, said: “I am pleased that over the past two years, a fourth new airline is beginning operations in Lithuania. This shows that Vilnius Airport remains a safe, attractive, and reliable partner for international carriers. The arrival of this company marks a new stage in our country’s aviation. A direct connection with one of the most important hubs in the Middle East not only increases Lithuania’s accessibility and expands connecting-flight opportunities, but also opens entirely new travel destinations for all of us, as well as for business and the tourism sector. In the first year of operations alone, around 40,000 passengers are expected to be carried.”

Beyond improved connectivity, the Dubai and Vilnius route is expected to support stronger economic cooperation, attract visitors seeking new cultural and leisure experiences and create an important new link for Lithuanian travellers to access Dubai’s world-class attractions and onward destinations such as the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Tanzania and Thailand.

Commenting on the launch of flights, Jeyhun Efendi, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce at flydubai, said: “The launch of our flights to Vilnius underscores flydubai’s commitment to expanding direct connectivity to underserved markets. These new flights will play an important role in stimulating tourism and trade flows between the UAE and Lithuania, offering passengers more convenient travel options and opening new opportunities for businesses and visitors in both countries. We look forward to seeing the route gain popularity with our customers and we thank the airport and local authorities for their support and warm welcome to the market.”
Simonas Bartkus, Chief Executive Officer at Lithuanian Airports, said: “The launch of direct flydubai flights at Vilnius Airport is a significant step in expanding our aviation map and strengthening Lithuania’s air connectivity. This new link with one of the most important hubs in the Middle East opens up even more opportunities for both travellers and businesses, while also providing convenient access to more than 200 destinations within the combined flydubai and Emirates network. We particularly appreciate flydubai‘s readiness to invest in the development of inbound tourism in the Baltic States, which is crucial for ensuring the success of flights throughout the year. We are confident that the Dubai route will become an attractive and consistent choice for our passengers.”

Customers travelling on the new route will enjoy flydubai’s elevated Business Class product, featuring spacious lie-flat seats, an internationally-inspired culinary offering and a more personalised, comfortable travel experience.

Economy Class customers can also benefit from complimentary immersive inflight entertainment and delicious meals, reflecting flydubai’s ongoing investment in elevating the overall customer journey.
